South Florida's "Poet of the Condos," gently entered the sleep of sleeps at home in Pompano Beach. At 70 after an active philanthropic career, Selma turned to poetry and published her first book, "Nothing Dies if You Remember", a tribute to a deceased sister. She went on to write 15 more books celebrating life.

She eloped at 22 with Bernard Plotnick and lived in Stamford, CT, moving to Pompano in the 1970s. Survivors include two sons, their wives, 4 grandchildren, and a brother. In her poem "The Three Hs" written when she was over 90, Selma focused on being "Happy and Healthy and Here." In the hearts of all she touched, she still is. A celebration of her life was held in Pompano on what would have been her 95th birthday.
