In the 1860's through the 1880's, Mrs. Tweedy operated a millinery and ladies' fancy goods establishment in Augusta. It was located on 215 Broad Street.

Mrs. Tweedy has been a citizen of Augusta for many years and her death yesterday marked the close of a long and useful life. Mrs. Tweedy was known and respected by everybody in Augusta. She was a consistent member of the Baptist Church and lived a life of piety and sweet amiability. Her funeral this evening will be attended by many friends.
