The Wilson family with their eight children, decided to move from North Carolina to Utah in 1891. Their father, Lawson Green Wilson sold all of his possessions and bought tickets to North Ogden, Utah.
The eldest brother, Robert Monroe, went first to make arrangements for the family.
When they arrived in North Ogden it is reported they were treated very poorly by the missionaries whom they had befriended and who had taught them the LDS Gospel and baptized them in 1889.
The family lived in North Ogden for the summer and then moved to Lehi, Utah during the sugar factory construction.
Their Father worked in the fields, hoeing and thinning the sugar beets which was about the same as the work in the cotton fields in the south that he had done.
William Alexander married Maude Roberts of Lehi, Utah on June 13, 1908. They had five daughters and one son.
