Maggie was the 3rd of 8 children born to Marcus Edgar Golden and Lula Mae Strickland. She was married to Curtis Leonard Lifsey for 11 years, but they had no children. Six years after Leonard died she married Barney Bonapart Cone. He had been a widower for 10 years. He had 4 daughters that welcomed Maggie into their family and called her "Mother". Only 14 months later Barney died suddenly, leaving Maggie with his 4 daughters. She loved and considered the girls as her own children, and never remarried. She was a nurse. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Maggie lived to be 86 years old.
