Mrs. Betty Jackson Chance, 88, of Sardis, MS passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Chance was born on June 25, 1930 in Sardis, MS to The Late Willie Johnson Jackson and Roy Jackson. She lived her early life in the Como and Sardis area where she graduated from Sardis High School. She was an office manager for Cutters Exchange in Los Angeles, CA and Nashville, TN. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Chance was known for her humor and quick-wit. A resident for over 20 years, she and her husband, who managed farms in the area, were proud to call Sardis their home. She was a very sweet and kind lady who will be missed not only by her family, but by her many friends and neighbors as well. Mrs. Chance leaves behind her son, Ron Chance (Judy) of Mirimar Lakes, FL; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Chance; her daughter, Rita Chance; her son; Tony Chance; her sister, Francis Durham; her brother, Sonny Jackson; and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 4pm in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Tribble officiating. Interment will follow in Longtown Cemetery near Crenshaw. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2pm until service time at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Chance Family Endowed Scholarship at Northwest Mississippi Community College, 4975 Hwy. 51 North, Senatobia, MS 38668. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
