Mrs. Maudie Appleton Haley, 84, Retired Administrative Assistant to Vice Chancellor Bryant at the University of Mississippi, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North MS in Oxford.

Funeral Services will be Friday, June 8, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Allen and Rev. Eric Hankins Officiating.
Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the Service from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

The 15th Child of Charles Edward Appleton and Lora Merle Leeton, Mrs. Haley was Born and attended School in Sardis, MS.

She went on to Graduate from Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, MS; and later attended the University of Mississippi where she was employed for 44 years, from 1948-1992.

In addition to working for the Vice Chancellor, she also worked with Ed Meek in the Public Relations Department at the University of Mississippi.
During this time, she was a very loyal supporter of higher education.

She formerly was a Member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, the Pilot Club, VFW Auxiliary, and was a Volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital North MS since 1995.
She was a Member of First Baptist Church where she belonged to the Tony Inmon Circle, also a Member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and was on the Flower Committee.
She held a Lifetime Membership to MS Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston Alumni and was an Honorary Life Member of USAF Air Defense Team.

Survivors include her Husband, Pat W. Haley of Oxford, MS; two Daughters, Debbie H. Littrell of Oxford, MS; and Anna H. Purvis of Oxford, MS; one Son, Richard Douglas Haley of Metairie, LA; three Grandchildren; and many Nieces, Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Contributions in Mrs. Haley's Memory may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 800 Van Buren Ave., Oxford, MS 38655.
