Martha Lucile Young Christensen, age 87, died June 6,2000 at home. She was born March 2, 1913 in Myton to Brigham and Mary Elizabeth Herbert Young.
She married Daniel George Christensen Oct.31,1933 in Roosevelt and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dan died July 11,1923.
Lucile worked as a cook in the school lunch program for many year and also cooked for head start and the Sr. Citizens. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, always growing a big garden, and did a lot of canning, most of which she gave to her children. Lucile was active in the LDS church, served in the Relief Society org. for many years, and served a mission to the California, Sacramento mission from 1975-77. She was a gracious, kind and loving person.
She was survived by children, George D.(Joan) Christensen,Vernal, Bernice Reich, Washougal, WA,Lois (Julius"Chunky") Murray, Roosevelt;
Reva Christensen, Roosevelt; Karen (Al) Riviera, San Jose,CA; 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren,and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Herb Young, Las Vegas; and 3 sisters, Doris Potter, Roosevelt, Elma Potter, Myton, and Maggie Adams, Provo.
