Sidney Thomas Ellis, 96, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012. He was a native of Southampton County, a resident of Newport News, and a member of West Hampton Baptist Church.

Sidney was preceded in death by Rita Harris, Ann Frankie, Mabel Altman and son George.

He is survived by his daughters, Doris Monroe (Lloyd) of Hampton and Sharon Mileski (Bernie) of Michigan; daughter in law, Freida Ellis; stepsons, Dan, Wayne and Ron Altman and their families; grandchildren, Vicki Raines (Carl), David Monroe, Tony Ellis (Debbie), Monica (Mark), Karen, Michelle, Greg Mileski (Pam) and many great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Sidney's Chesapeake retirement community family.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 8th at Greenlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Dr. Furman Kenney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Fox Hill Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 335 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, VA 23669.
