Lavina's parents were Robert Thompson and Ruth McQuiston/McCuiston who, records indicate, died in Guilford Co. NC before Henry and Lavina moved to Mississippi.
Henry and Lavina Caffey moved to Choctaw Co. MS in the early to mid 1840s from Guilford Co. NC and records prove they had all their children in No. Carolina. The early census prove that Henry and Lavina had far more children than are listed for them in later records so some daughters may have married and remained in No. Carolina and some may have died as children in No. Carolina.
To my knowledge and research Henry and Lavina had Lettie Ann, Elizabeth (Betsy), Zilpha, John T., Deviney Lavina, Thomas Jackson, Henry (Mack) Maxwell, Hooper Patrick, Emily Jane, William Washington and Hazard Gilbert Caffey.
God Bless you Lavina and your husband Henry for I know it had to be a hard life to have moved by wagons, carts, horses and oxen to a wilderness area to build a new home and life in your later years. So you are both most assuredly to be commended and remembered with great love.
