Mrs. Shizuko D. Appleton

Mrs. Shizuko D. Appleton was the only child born to Torashi and Kazue Doi in Sasebo City Nagaski Japan on September 27, 1934. She departed this life on Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Erskine F. Appleton, Sr. of July 27, 1953. Her husband, Erskine F. Appleton, Sr. and three children preceded her in death.

She expressed her belief in the gospel by supporting Bethany Primitive Baptist Church building fund, the music ministry of recording artists, The Voices of Inspiration and Mable Hill Baptist Church Nursing Home Ministry.

Mrs. Appleton was known for her many exquisite and tasty culinary skills, and talents as a seamstress in making professional custom draperies and window treatments. Many residences and businesses throughout the City of Huntsville and Madison County have been blessed with her expertise. She crocheted blankets, booties and clothing accessories for many new born babies which have been kept by numerous parents as family heirlooms. Innumerable individuals have been blessed through her generous "gifts" made with her hands and given from her loving heart.
