Born April 5, 1924 in Yoe, he was the son of the late Clinton R. and Mary M. (Sheffer) Ness.
He retired in 1983 as a teacher for Wyomissing Area School District and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was a member of Central Park United Methodist Church, Reading and a graduate of Berwick High School and a graduate of F&M College and obtained his Master's Degree from Columbia University.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy R. Ness of Raleigh, NC and Daniel A. Ness of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Carroll Ness of Clearmont, Fla. and John Ness of York.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York. Rev. Nicolas Camacho, his pastor, will officiate Burial will be held in Canadochly Cemetery, York.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Park United Methodist Church Food Ministry, 138 South Sixth Street, Reading, PA 19602.
