Elden K Andersen, 76, passed away May 15, 2006 from complications of Parkinson's Disease.

Born August 23, 1929 in Monroe, Utah, son of Ernest Van Nostrand and Elna Christensen Andersen. Married Beverly Ann Moore March 24, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and eternity.

He was an example to everyone. He was a hard worker, loved to tell stories, and enjoyed listening to John Phillip Sousa Marches. He joined the Utah National Guard October 17, 1949. Activated in the Army September 10, 1950. Worked for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, managed several gas stations and worked for the Department of Defense as a Supervisory Equipment Specialist. Retired from the Army Reserves August 23, 1989. Retired from Civil Service, Fort Douglas, Utah September 30, 1989.

Survived by daughter, Deann (John) Patty; sons: Kenneth, Bob, Don and Tom (Karrie) Andersen; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchil dren; sisters: Elaine (Joe) Rawlinson, Anina Haggerty and Elsie Smith; brothers: Neil (Muriel) Anderson and Dean (Beth) Andersen. Preceded in death by parents; wife; grandson, Jason Andersen; step-grandson, Kyle Patty.

Special thanks to the nurses, doctors and care givers at Utah State Veterans Nursing Home, Avalon Care Center and Heritage Place.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd where a viewing will be held Wed., 6-8 p.m. and Thurs., 1-1:45 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
