Mr. Elliott passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital, Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born on June 2, 1921 in Montgomery County, TN to Richard Carney Elliott and Mary Winters Harris Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Smith Elliott and his son, Larry Smith Elliott. He was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder. He was a retired mechanic from Jenkins and Wynne, and was a veteran in the US Navy and served in WWII.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Jamie Michelle (Aaron) Denton; grandsons, David (Keisha) Elliott & Scott Elliott; brother, Carney Harris (Anne) Elliott; companion, Laura McElfresh; daughter-in-law, Kay Elliott; 3 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Elaine Shell, Avery Elizabeth & Hudson Hughes Elliott.
