It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic deaths of Hayley Morae Wourms (Wilcock) and her beautiful son, Cayden Ray Wourms on May 28, 2012. Hayley was born September 1, 1988 in Assiniboia, SK, and Cayden was born April 12, 2010 in Saskatoon, SK. Hayley received her schooling in Assiniboia and achieved her Kinesiology degree with Honours at the University of Saskatchewan. She was currently studying towards her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Cayden enjoyed his time attending daycare in Saskatoon and Airdrie, AB. Hayley and Cayden have joined their Grandma Margaret and Grandpa Bob Wilcock, Uncle Bobby Wilcock, Papa Ken Braaten, Great-Grandma Clara Lee and other beloved relatives in heaven. They will be sadly missed by their parents/grandparents, Les and Melanie Wilcock, sister/auntie, Cara Wilcock (Jamie), Nana Jacquie Braaten, Uncle Jayson Braaten, Auntie Diane Braaten, Auntie Marion Ross (Bruce), Uncle Jim Wilcock (Mary Lou) and all their treasured cousins, relations and friends. Hayley was an exceptional mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She was the perfect example of a humanitarian. Her positive and unbiased nature towards people was clearly evident to everyone who knew her. She saw the best and brought out the best in everyone she met. Many people from her home community and from around the world have testified that their lives have changed for the better because of this dynamic young woman. Her strong faith and belief in God carried her through good times and bad. Her love for her son was primary in her life, and she remained courageous through many of life's challenges to the very end. Cayden was a great blessing to his family in his short time on this earth. He touched many hearts, and could always make a sad day happy with this contagious smile and laugh. It was evident that he was going to follow in his mother's footsteps with his sunny disposition, his love of people, and natural leadership skills. Cayden and Hayley shared the love of music and dance, whether it was with each other or on their own. Their celebration of life was held June 2, 2012, at the Assiniboia Alliance Church presided by Mrs. Lori Klein and Rev. Greg Dermody. Miss TJ Dallyn and Mr. Josh Unger created a memorable slide show showing Hayley and Cayden's life in pictures. Mentor and friend, Mr. Brent Adam, shared a heartfelt eulogy in their memory. A musical tribute was given by Mrs. Diane Rhodes and Mr. Jason Bergeron, and scripture readings were read by Mrs. Vanessa Bergeron. Honorary Pallbearers were "All those whose lives were enriched by Haley and Cayden". Acting Pallbearers were: TJ Dallyn, Brandy Eisnor, Jason Willer, Karson Braaten, Evan Ross, Graham Walker. The interment at Mount Hope Cemetery in Assiniboia was followed by an ice cream social at the church. The Hayley Wourms (Wilcock) Memorial Scholarship has been established in memory of Hayley and Cayden. Donations may be sent to Box 1882, Assiniboia, SK, S0H 0B0.
