Carbon Soldier's Rites Are Friday

Red Lodge, Oct. 27--Graveside services for Corporal Albert Eugene Young, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Young of Red Lodge, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rockvale Cemetery in charge of the Joliet V.F.W. The Rev. Hugh E. Jull, pastor of the Christian Church of Joliet, will officiate.

Corporal Joseph A. Sawyer will escort the body of Corporal Young when it is returned for reburial.

Corporal Young was born at Hardin September 21, 1912, and attended public schools there. In 1922 he moved with his parents to Long Beach, Calif., where he enlisted with the regular army at the age of 21. He served with the army until May 6, 1944, when he was killed in action in the Philippines.

He was awarded the purple heart posthumously June 1, 1944.

Surviving besides his mother are his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Sarah R. Miller of Red Lodge, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Young of Joliet.
