After leaving public service, she worked for many years in the private sector for Reith-Riley Construction Company, Goshen Die Cutting, and Veterinary and Poultry Supply, Inc. She was married to Donald W. Roose (1928-1999) and was the mother of three children, Phillip W. Roose (1955-2014), Jeffrey Roose of Croghan, N.Y., and Julie Roose Haszler of Goshen. A 1949 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Goshen, she joined the Clerk-Treasurer’s office shortly after high school. The City of Goshen has honored her many years of public service by planting a memorial tree in her honor on the lawn of the Goshen Municipal Building.
