Wanda was born on June 9, 1924 in Oklahoma City to Walter "Jack" Monroe and Bertha May (Belcher) Manning. She passed away on June 9, 2012 in Tulsa.

Wanda grew up and attended school at Hawthorn Grade School, Taft Junior High and briefly at Classen High School; she moved to Pryor in 1940 and graduated from Pryor High School in 1942, the year of the tornado. She met Bill Mallory, who was from Comanche, Iowa in 1941 and they were later married on July 3, 1942. She and Bill were married for 60 years, 4 months and 12 days. They made their home in Pryor and had two daughters, Barbara Ann Patterson and Bonnie Pierson. Wanda loved being with Bill traveling, hunting and fishing. She was his "ears" for seven years when he could no longer hear the turkeys while hunting. She enjoyed many years of entertaining her family and friends at the lake home at Lakeside North Edition on Lake Hudson where they had lived since 1974 and loved working in her gardens and flower beds.

Wanda worked for Jack Merrill at Jack's TV for three years. She also worked as an insurance agent and bookkeeper for 40 years at the Burrus Agency for local insurance agents, Clifford Henry, Pat Sampsel and Frank Burrus, retiring in 1996.

Wanda was a faithful and active member of the First United Methodist Church in Pryor for many years where she was a member and treasurer of the Challenger Sunday school class and also worked with the United Methodist Women serving Rotary dinners for over 50 years.

To say Wanda loved volunteering and being active in her community would be an understatement; she served her community in many capacities with different organizations over the past 60 years; Wanda loved volunteer work and staying connected to her friends and community was important to her. Some of the positions she held over the years were: local past President and Treasurer and state secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary –, Secretary/Treasurer of the American Red Cross, treasurer for the Mayes County Blood Mobile, Secretary/Treasurer Lakeside Homeowners Association from 1971-2004, Sundial Home and Community Education 1942-2001, Better Home-Home and Community Education 2001 and the Silver Thread's Quilt Club. She enjoyed her work at the Mayes County Fair and Extension Club. She was awarded "Homemaker of the Year 1994" by the Mayes County Family, Community and Education, awarded a pin for 55 years of service from the FCE Council and received the Citizenship Award from the Rock Creek Family Community Education organization. She was currently still volunteering at the Ministry Center on Friday afternoons and played bridge three days a week at the Senior Citizens Center and twice a month with another bridge group. Wanda was selfless, giving and loyal to her family, friends and community and her presence here will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Patterson and husband Tom of Tulsa and Bonnie Pierson and husband Jim of Pryor; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, two sisters LaRita Walker and husband Jerry of OKC, Delorse Ramsey and husband Charles of Lexington, OK; three brothers George Haunstein and wife Mel of Chouteau, Allen Haunstein and wife Mary of Farmington, AR and Jackie Manning and wife Joy of Moore and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and other special family and friends.
