James Richard Adkins, 69, New Castle resident, passed away Saturday morning, June 9,2012,at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 13,1943,in New Castle,a son of the late James Michell and Frances Mae (Ford) Adkins. He was a lifelong resident of New Castle and loved sharing time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, walking, fishing, hunting and watching sports events.

Left to cherish his loving memory include two brothers; Thomas Adkins of New Castle and Donald Eugene Adkins of New Castle;one sister, Judy Teeters (husband Steve) of Modoc;also several nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several sisters and brothers.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday,June 12,2012, at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Max Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Garden.
