The funeral services of Mrs. Thomas Baxter, who died last Friday in Albuquerque, N. M., was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of W. H. Folsom, 520 State. Dr. F. J. Sauber and Rev. Frank Ward conducted the services. Interment was made in Maplewood.

Mrs. Thomas Baxter, who went to Albuquerque, New Mexico, last week for the benefit of her health, died three days after her arrival, from Bright's Disease. The journey was undertaken because Mrs. Baxter strongly desired it and as the last hope. Mr. Baxter went to Albuquerque and accompanied the remains to Emporia where she was buried Tuesday. Mr. Baxter and Tom returned from Emporia Wednesday, accompanied by L. W. Baxter of Guthrie, another son, who was present at Emporia. L. W. Baxter is State Supt. of Schools for Oklahoma, now serving his third term by appointment.

MRS. BAXTER DEAD
Mrs. Baxter, who went to Albuquerque the first of last week, in search of health, died last Friday evening. She stood the trip well, and seemed to have been benefited by it, at first, and two telegrams were received here saying she was better but the third telegram stated that she was worse. Then, a fourth message was received, saying that she continued to grow worse. Mr. Baxter immediately prepared to go to his wife. Then came the message that Mrs. Baxter was dead.
Arrangements were being made to bring the body to Emporia, the old home of the family, where the funeral was held and the burial took place.
Deceased was a resident of Garnett for several years. She was a delicate woman, and remained at home most of the time, but those who knew her held her in high esteem. She was of a gentle, kindly disposition, and suffered uncomplainingly for years. She leaves a husband, two sons and two daughters to mourn their loss.
We extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
