FUREY CAMPELLONE, 88, of Stone Harbor, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Emilio and Josephine Campellone, he moved to Stone Harbor in December of 1962 after living in Cape May Court House for three years.

An Army Veteran of World War II, he was at Normandy on D-Day and also in Northern France and Central Europe campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion Stephen C. Ludlam Post 331 in Stone Harbor and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Cape May Court House. He enjoyed fishing and pinochle. He loved gabbing with people and spent a lot of time at the hospital cardiac rehab center, hospital lobby, and visiting people in the hospital. He worked at the Naval Air Development Center Johnsville.

Furey is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dorothy; his children, Thomas, Theodore, Nancy, Susan, Amy, and Patty; his brother, Alfred; his 20 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A service of Memory and Honor will be held for Furey on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 331, P.O. Box 232, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 518 South Shore Road, Marmora, NJ 08223.
