Ashley was the son of Pliny Rosebrook and Elizabeth Amey.
Before the 1860 census he married Martha Jane Marden, daughter of Aaron Frost Marden and Katherine Howe.
They had one child, Freddie. He died in 1866 when he was 3 years old.
In 1860 they lived in Guildhall - Ashley was a farmer; in 1870 in Burke, VT - Ashley was a farmer & teamster; in 1880 in Jefferson, NH - Ashley worked in a hotel. In 1885 they were back in Guildhall (or at least that is where Martha died in 1885).
On Oct 22, 1892 in Lancaster, NH he married Mary E. (Welch) Masure, daughter of Simeon Welch and Deborah Richardson, and widow of Lewis H. Massure/Masure. In that marriage her children were George, Charity E, Mary E, and Alfred Lewis.
On Nov 2, 1897 Ashley obtained a divorce for desertion. Mary took back her 1st married name. She died in 1907 in VT and is buried with her 1st husband in Sheffield, VT.
On June 15, 1898 in Lancaster, NH he married Persis Abigail Cloutman, daughter of James Neal Cloutman and Almira Balch. It was her first marriage.
They both died four years later in 1902. He is buried here with his 1st wife and Persis is buried in Lancaster with her family.
