Wayne "Butch" Barger, 72, of 301 Canterbury Court, Mayfield, died at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He was a real estate broker and owner of Barger Realty for 30 years, a member of the First Baptist Church, the Mayfield-Graves County Board of Realtors, the Kentucky Association of General Contractors, and Mayfield Masonic lodge #369, had been a builder and developer, a salesman for Kosmos Cement Co. of Louisville, was a Director of Housing for the city of Mayfield, had been a co-owner and operator of General Concrete, and was a US Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Barger, one son, one daughter, two granddaughters and several nephews.
He was preceded In death by one son, one brother, and his parents.
Services for Mr. Barger will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Byrn Chapel In Mayfield, with the Rev. Bob Swift, Dr. John Huffman and Dr. Roger Willmore officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe David Smith, Joe Morris, Eric Hoffman, Joe Thomas Ford, Joe Elliott, Barry McDonald, Jan Janssen and Greg Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be John Cook, Joe Ford, Jack Morris, Jimmy Routen, Danny F lood, Hugh Williams, E.W. Anderson Jr., Albert McClain and Tony Smith.
Friends may call alter 5 p.m. today (Friday) at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, where Masonic services will be conducted al 8 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the irst Baptist Church of Mayfield.
