Billings Gazette, November 25, 1968:

Funeral services for George Ray Folkins, 65, who died Friday in Winton, California, will be at 1:30 p.m, next Friday at Smith's Funeral Chapel. Burial will be Mountview Cemetery.

Mr. Folkins, a retired blacksmith, had been living with a daughter in Winton since August 1967. He was born February 25, 1883, in Plainsview, Nebraska, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Folkins.

He married Grace Premo on April 26, 1904 in Adrian, Minnesota. Mrs. Folkins died in 1952. Mr. Folkins homesteaded southwest of Bridger in 1906. He came to Billings in 1923, started a blacksmith shop in Ballastine in 1934 and retired and returned to Billings in 1964. He was a member of the Odd Fellows.

Mr. Folkins is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George Powell, Seattle, Washington; a son, Lyle of Petaluma, California; five brothers, the Rev. Ross Folkins, Sturgis, S.D.; Harry, Seattle; Clarence, Spokane, Washington; Bert, Tekoa, Washington; Fred, Farfield, Washington; two sisters, Laura, Fairfield, Washington, and Gladys, Santa Ana, California.
