Ovilla F. Hoftiezer

Mrs. Ovilla F. Hoftiezer, 85, of 919 Wisconsin Ave., died Saturday evening, April 5, 1997 at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born Nov. 23, 1911, in the Town of Greenbush, Sheboygan County, Ovilla was a daughter of Fred W. and Martha Berth Mueller.

On Feb. 28, 1934, she married Roland Wachter, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1965. She the married Anthony Hoftiezer on April 6, 1974, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1994.

Ovilla was employed at Morningside Health Center for seven years, retiring in 1971. Following her retirement, she and her husband, Anthony, were caretakers for the Wm. Hayssen family for seven years. She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

Ovilla is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Ronald) Hummitzsch, Kohler, her son, William (Roedell) Wachter, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Linda (Mark) Papcke, Grafton; David Hummitzsch, Susan and Steven Wachter, all of Sheboygan; a great-granddaughter, Tara Papcke; a step-son, Herbert (Jean) Hoftiezer, Waldo; four step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; a half sister, Sarah (Albert) Kleckner, Two Rivers; a sister-in-law, Edna Mueller, Sheboygan; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Amelia Voltz Braatz; two sisters; a brother and a half-brother.

Funeral services for Ovilla will be held at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3207 Wilgus Ave., on Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. The Rev. David Cecil, pastor, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the CHURCH, on Tuesday, after 4 p.m. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Ovilla's name, for Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

The Lippert Funeral Homes is serving the family.
