Mrs. Ella Balderson
Wamego-Services will at at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home here for Mrs. Ella Ruehmann Balderson, 95, Wamego. She died late Sunday, Oct 28, at a Manhattan nursing home.
Mrs. Balderson taught piano lessons at her home many years and wrote a column for the Wamego Reporter.
She was born May 9, 1889, at Wamego, the daughter of Herman and Anna Marie Bergman Plesse, and spent her life at Wamego.
a past president of the Kansas Republican Women's Club and held several local offices in the Republican Party. She was also past president of the Kansas Federated Women's Club, and of the Wamego Portia Club at Wamego.
Mrs. Balderson was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the women's guild at the church, and Wamego Chapter No. 76, Order of Eastern Star, all at Wamego, and of Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas. She was a former member of the Kansas Press Association.
Her first husband, Harry Ruehmann, died June 20, 1958. She was married to Neil C. Balderson Aug. 16, 1962. He died July 16, 1975.
Survivors include a stepson, Willard E. Balderson, Wamego; three step-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Wamego City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Wamego.
