Charles Lee Barker, 70, died Feb. 10, 1981 in Home Hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in Tippecanoe County, he was a life resident of the area. He was married July 22, 1955 in Lafayette to Betty A. Weaver, an employee of the Lafayette Dental Lab, who survives. He was custodian at Edgelea school for 21 years, retiring in 1976. Before that he was employed 20 years at the Ye Tavern Brewery. Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, Cecil Barker of Harvey, IL; and Francis Barker of Peoria, IL; and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Pierson of Auburndale, FL; and Mrs. Olive Vandermay of Lafayette. Service 10 AM Friday in Hippensteel Chapel, Rev. William L. Steele officiating. Internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
