Ada Miller was the first of seven children born to Edward and Martha (Kranpitz) Miller. Ada began her schooling at the Hill St. School in Port Washington, Wisconsin. She completed completed four years of high school at Milwaukee Girls' Tech and Trade School and and one year of business college. Ada never married and lived with her parents her entire life. She was employed as a stenographer by the Friedman Bag Co. on East Clybourn St. and later worked as a sales person at Gimbels department store in downtown Milwaukee until her retirement in 1970. After her parents died, she purchased their home on the corner of 42nd and Derby streets where she continued to live until a few years prior to her death in April 1993.
