Uriah Abraham Bell – The subject of this sketch departed this life March 8, 1923. He was 74 years, 4 months and 23 days old. Deceased was born in Tennessee and came to Arkansas when a young man. Married Eliza Pearson and settled in Lawrence County.


To this happy union eleven children were born: three died in infancy. His wife departed this life in April 1909. He leaves eight children, all whom were at his bedside at his death except Thomas of Arizona, John of New Mexico and Harrison of Myatt, Ark., forty-five great-grandchildren.


He moved to Izard County in 1873 and settled in what is now Baker Township, near Wiseman, moving to Oxford about eight years ago, at which place he died.


He was a member of the Church of Christ for more than thirty-four years. The remains were laid to rest in the Wiseman Cemetery March 9. Funeral services were conducted by the writer. ---- J. W. Pearson
