RALPH CHARLES BOYD was born in Italy, Ellis County, Texas on May 6, 1914 to Rufus and Morena Boyd. His siblings are Mable and Eloise Boyd. He received his formal education in the Italy Public Schools and was a member of the historic Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church. Ralph Boyd enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II (1942-1945) and was honorably discharged. He worked as a transfer clerk for the United States Postal Service for 36 years; his hobbies were reading, sports, and model railroads. Ralph Charles and Freddie Lee Boyd married April 9, 1963. His wife preceded him in death on December 6, 1999. Resting peacefully at his home in Los Angeles, California two months later, Ralph Charles Boyd met his demise on February 18, 2000.
