Nannie Adair Walker was born at Flint Dist, Cherokee Nation, IT, the daughter of Timothy Meigs Walker Sr. (brother of Elizabeth Grace Walker Coleman buried at Citizens) and Elizabeth Neely Adair (both buried at Walker Cemetery, Fort Gibson OK). **See her mother's gravesite for her siblings.

Nannie married on 26 Dec 1871, James Albert Coleman b. 24 Mar 1847 in Williamstown, Harrison Co., KY, d. 14 Jun 1941 in Sallisaw, Sequoyah Co., OK; they spent their honeymoon at the home of Clem Rogers who was the father of Will Rogers at Oolagah, OK.

James was a carpenter and was away from home much of the time; Nanny had to take care of the children and was an Assistant Post Mistress at Fort Gibson in 1890. They moved to the Fort's former Commanding Officer's Quarters after the Fort was closed and the buildings were acquired by private owners; this residence is known today as the Garrett Historic Home, 504 Coppinger, Fort Gibson, OK.

Nannie and James Albert had the following children: Nellie (1872-1908), Emma (1875-1958), William (1878-1923), Minnie (1880-1919), Eva (1882-1970, Tommie (1884-1915) (buried at Citizens), Ella (1886-1936), and Timothy (1890-1910) (buried at Citizens).
