Pauline W. Black, 96, of Sun City, Calif., died Friday, Sept 21, at Western Anaheim Extended Care of pneumonia. She was born in Roswell, Idaho. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines and was a school teacher. She was a member of P.E.O., TN:O.E.S., Five Point; Perris Lodge No. 411; the United Church of Sun City and the Sun City Women's Club. She had lived in Sun City the past 31 years after after retiring from teaching in Los Angeles.
Survivors include a daughter, Jayne B. Lyday of Crestline, Calif.; a son, Joe Black of Mission Viejo, Calif,; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a brother , Lyle Womeldorff of Ames.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle in 1978.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct 1, from 11 a.m. to the time of the funeral service, which will be held at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing at 2 p.m. that day. Burial will be in the Zearing, Lincoln Township Cemetery, Story County, Ia. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
