His mother is unknown as she died around 1845 in Montgomery County and his father remarried. His middle name may have been Edward. Need documentation to corroborate this information.

"Alabama Marriages, 1816-1957", database, Franklin Bedsole, 1858.
Married in Lowndes County, Alabama December 2, 1858.

In the 1907 Census of Confederate Veterans, his birth place is listed as near Rocky Mount, Alabama with the county listed as Montgomery. Rocky Mount is actually just inside the Crenshaw County line so he most likely was born in Montgomery County. Also states he was paroled on May 1, 1865 at Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama.

Since I don't know exactly, Alabama is all I am willing to add at this time.

Please do not ask me to add his rank as his rank did not follow him into civilian life.
