Mary Ellen Morrissey Gill was christened 11 Oct 1840 in Borris, County Carlow, Ireland, daughter of Ellen (Fenlon) and Thomas Morrissey. Mary Ellen Morrissey died on 9 Feb 1937 on the farm in Maple Grove Twp age 96 years. Her family emigrated to Wisconsin in May 1851. She married Lawrence Gill on 24 Nov 1861 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. They farmed in Maple Grove Twp and had a family of 13 children. They celebrated their 50th anniversary with 25 relatives from South Dakota taking the train to attend.
