At an early age she moved with her parents to Saunders County, Nebraska, and later to Valley County where she lived on a farm South of North Loup.
She was united in marriage to William Nelson Preston, February 22, 1898, in North Loup and lived most of her life on the farm South of town.
Her husband proceeded her in death July 28, 1939. Of their seven children, 2 proceeded her in death, Esther age 5, and David, Age 21.
Living to be blessed by the memory of her wonderful sacred life are her two daughters, Mrs. Bernard Gillan of Utica, Nebraska, and Mrs. Lawrence Mitchell or Milford, Iowa, Three sons, Howard and Robert of Denver, Colorado and Richard of Torrance, California; Four sisters- Mrs. Dollie Romine of Broken Bow, Nebraska, Mrs. Cloyd Cress of Riverside, Iowa, Mrs. Charles Cress of North Loup, and Pauline Mayo of Seattle, Washington, Also 1 brother, Charles Mayo of Ord, Nebraska.
She was lovingly cared for during the days of her illness by her daughters-in-laws, Hilda and Catherine, and her daughters, Erma and Naomi.
She was a member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado.
Her great love of God, her church, her family and hosts of friends was the dominating factor of her life.
Burial was postponed until Sunday Morning because word had been received that another grandson, who was in Alaska was coming and would be in North Loup. Burial to take place at Hillside Cemetery in North Loup.
