From the Morning Irontonian, 29 August 1920, Sunday, Page 5:
John Fausnet, aged 87, a veteran of the Civil War, died at 7 o'clock Saturday morning at his home at Bald Knob, this county, after a brief illness. The deceased was a gallant soldier in the days of 61-65 and was wounded in action. The funeral service will be held at Wilgus church at 2 p.m. today with burial in the Wilgus cemetery under the direction of Undertaker Phillips of Waterloo.
