George A. Gibeault, age 86, of Reedsville, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 1. 2001 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Tom Long will officiate and entombment will be at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
George was born Feb. 21, 1915 in Coleman, son of the late Aristide and Evelyn (LaValley) Gibeault. He married Marge Doolan on March 9, 1943 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Maple Grove. He was employed at Miller Brewing Co. in Milwauke until retiring in 1975. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Reedsville, the Holy Name Society in Milwaukee, Knights of Columbus in Reedsville, Friends of St. Patrick’s and the Reedsville Sportsman’s Club.
Survivors include his wife Marge; two daughters and one son-in-law; Norene Hochhaus, LaValle, Wis.; Janis Cichy-Johns and Gary Johns, Glenview, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law; Glenn and Julie Gibeault, Eagle River, Alaska; seven grandchildren: Pam, Kim and Dave Hochhaus; Peter and Jonathan Cichy, Justin and Colleen Gibeault; four sisters: Leona Simonon and Beatrice Hikade, West Allis; Charlotte Powers, Peshtigo, and Adeline Holmes, Mishicot; brother; Bernard (Clara) Gibeault, North Prairie, Wis.; and five sisters-in-law: Margaret Gibeault, Two Rivers; Audrey Gibeault, Howards Grove; Rita (Joe) Vogel, Reedsville, Donna Schlei and Lou Raether, both of Manitowoc; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Harris, Leonard and Paul; two sisters: Lucille Jergenson and Marie Gajdys; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Magdalene Gibeault, Orville Jergenson, Charles Simono (sic) William Hikade, John Powers, Elwood Holmes, Stanley Gajdys, Athlyn and Cliff O’Connell, Elizabeth and Frank Herold, George Schei and Allan Raether and two sons-in-law: Tom Hochhaus and Tom Cichy.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, Tuesday, July 31, 2001, from 5 to 9 a.m. and at the church, Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. when Mass will be held.
A prayer service lead by the Knights of Columbus will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
