Samuel Mershon received word this week from his sister-in-law stating that her husband, Jacob B. Mershon, brother of our townsman, had died at his home in Norwich, Conn, aged 77 years. Deceased was the only living brother, and all of his sisters have passed to the great beyond, leaving the one brother here the eldest of the family, alone in the world. Only a few weeks since Mrs. Mershon received word that her only brother, Lane, had died thus bringing double sorrow to this excellent family within a very short time.
