Following a year of ill health, death came Wednesday afternoon, November 3, for a long-time Forest Lake resident, Mrs. Frank G. Arndt. Mrs. Arndt, who was 73 years old, died at Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for about six weeks. Funeral services for Mrs. Arndt were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at Faith Lutheran church with the Rev. Frank A. Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Scandinavian cemetery. Soloist Mrs. Charles Meyer (Ruth Berquist), formerly of Forest Lake now of Minneapolis, sang "Jesus Name All Names Above" and another hymn. Mrs. Richard Pepin was the organist. Mrs. Arndt was born Clara Gladys Andersen, the daughter of Andrew H. and Emma Andersen, in Columbus township on August 16, 1892. She grew up and attended school in this community and on February 8, 1921, was married in St. Paul to Frank G. Arndt. Mr. and Mrs. Arndt lived in Forest Lake and its vicinity all of their married life. Mrs. Arndt was an active worker in Faith Lutheran church of which she had been a member since 1915. In the church she participated and held offices in many of the organizations including the Ladies Aid, the Women's Missionary Society, the Lutheran Church Women and the church choir. Also active in community affairs, she was especially zealous in working with the American Legion Post 225 Auxiliary. She was a past member of the Forest Lake Study Club and the Forest Lake Public Library board. Besides her husband she is survived ty two daughters; six grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.
