Vina attended rural Clay County schools. On November 19, 1938 she married Rolf Fray. They farmed in the Dalesburg area. Vina was a member of Dalesburg Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid.
Her husband died in a farm accident in 1947. Vina remained on the farm with her three children until 1953 when they moved to Centerville. Vina was employed at the Royal Bakery in Centerville and was active in the Ladies Aid at the Centerville Baptist Church. In 1974 Vina moved to Beresford.
Vina was survived by her two daughters and one son, her brother, Lawrence Johnson, a sister, Florence Eklund, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf, and three sisters, Margaret Johnson, Martha Johnson, and Teckla Johnson.
