HARRY ZIPPERER SR (d. 2005)

Harry Zipperer Sr., age 88, of Cato, died following a heart attack on Wednesday, April 20, 2005. He was born on June 10, 1916 in Whitelaw, son of the late George and Frances
(Klingeisen) Zipperer. He married Lucille Wilhelm on Nov. 9, 1937. Harry farmed and worked at Reinemann Elevator in Cato for many years. He also served as a deputy for the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department for a number of years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion and the Holy Name Society of St. Patrick's Church in Maple Grove. Harry had a passion for his flowers and was well known for baking dinner rolls for St. Patrick's Parish picnic.

Survivors include two sons: Harry Jr. "Sonny" of Cato;Jerry and special friend, Dianne of Cato; four daughters: Harriet (Edgar) Engelbrecht of Austin, Texas; Char Kaufmann of Manitowoc; Joan (John) Calder of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and June (Frank) Scharenbroch of Brillion. He was a loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Marian Freiberg of Manitowoc; Alvina (Norbert) Scharenbroch of Charlevoix, Mich.; and a sister-in-law: Dolores Zipperer of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lucille; three sisters: Laura Reznichek; Lillian Yanda; Viola Katheiser; six brothers: William, Reiny, Lester, Thomas, Edwin, Bernard; and two infant sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Tom Long will officiate.

Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maple Grove. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville on Friday (TODAY), from 5 to 7 p.m. and then at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
