John Vogel, 87, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services
will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, Maple Grove. The Rev. Alois Pimeskern will officiate
and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Vogel was born May 9, 1882, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, the son of the
late John and Christine Rumpf Vogel. He married Sara McGinty June 21, 1911 at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, Chicago, Ill. The couple came to Wisconsin in 1913 and
farmed in the Towns of Maple Grove and Franklin. After the death of Mrs. Vogel
Sept. 2, 1962, he moved to St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc. He was a member of the
Catholic Order of Foresters and Holy Name Society.
Survivors include three sons, Edward of Brillion, William of Manitowoc and Joseph
of Rt. 2, Reedsville; two daughters, Mrs. John (Sarah) Hale of Manitowoc and Mrs.
William (Katherine) Kabat of Reedsville, 22 grandchildren and give great-grand-
children.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where at 8 p.m. the
parish Rosary will be recited and at 8:30 p.m. members of the Holy Name Society
will recite the Rosary.
