Simon Wasdin, age 92, of Alma passed away Jan 2, 2012 at Carl Vinson Hospital in Dublin, GA after an extended illness. He was a native of Pierce County but had lived in Bacon County the past 54 years. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Wasdin; five brothers, John, Fea, Monroe, Huey and Wright Wasdin; three sisters, Earnie Edge, Ruth King, and Oliff Hall.
Simon served in the US Army during WWII where he received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Carnes Wasdin of Alma, two sons, Bruce Wasdin and Michael Wasdin; three daughters, Christine Mills, Sarah Sloan and Margaret Bragg.
