Civil War Veteran. Died in 1864, presumably a casualty of the war. After a little research, I located a Frederick Andrus who was a 3rd Corporal in Capt. Baird's Co. He was listed as 21 years old in 1861 and was 24 when he died in 1864, so the math makes sense in that regard. This information was from the Geneva Courier newspaper dated May 29th, 1861 in Geneva, NY, which was published from 1831-1904.
