Alta C. Brown, 74, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at Porter Memorial Hospital. She was born March 15, 1925 in Peru, IN the daughter of Aaron and Eva (Geren) Douglas and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Valparaiso. On August 5, 1965 she married Billy Brown who preceded her in death in 1999. Survivors include one son, Rodney Brown of Chesterton; three step-children, Billy (Paula) Brown, Jr. of Springfield, IL, Linda Thiakos of Merrillville and John (Jennifer) Parks of South Bend; one half-sister, Gaynell Pearce of Peru and seven grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one half-sister, Sadie Parks and three half- brothers, Everett and Robert Robbins and William Douglas. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso, IN.
