Spanish Monarch. Born at Medina del Campo the second son of Fernando I and Eleanor of Albuquerque. After the death of his father his elder brother Alfonso V became king of Aragon, Naples and Sicily in 1416. When Alfonso V died in 1458 his son Ferdinand I succeeded him as king of Naples and Sicily and he succeeded him as king of Aragon. His first marriage to Blanche I of Navarre they had 5 children, but she would die in 1441. He would remarry to Juana Enríquez they had 2 children his oldest son Ferdinand II was his heir to the throne his son Ferdinand II succeeded him upon his death in 1479.
