__________________________
Hadley, Jacqueline Jones, age 93, daughter of C. Drummond Jones and Marie Busch Jones; beloved wife of the late Willis Dean Hadley; loving mother of Drum Hadley, Willis Dean Hadley, Jr. and Hope Hadley Burghardt; dear grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of eleven; aunt, great-aunt, godmother, cousin and friend to many left us peacefully in her sleep March 23, 2009. She was born at Grant's Farm December 31, 1915. It was during her childhood there that she developed her love for the land. She was educated at Rohan Woods, Sappington School, St. Louis Mary Institute and graduated from the Fermata School in Aiken, South Carolina. As a young woman, Mrs. Hadley was an accomplished equestrienne, winning many Blue Ribbons for her grandfather August A. Busch, Sr. She triumphed in championship jumping against an Olympic rider at the Bridlespur Hunt Club. She married Willis Hadley at Grant's Farm January 5, 1937. She went on to become an active part of both the St. Louis, Missouri and Cooperstown, New York communities. She contributed generously, volunteering at many events sponsored by the Community Chest Charities of St. Louis, orphanages, and the St. Louis Junior League as well as many local charities in Cooperstown, New York. Some of her favorite memories were of summers in Cooperstown. She loved the farmland with its fields of hops, the canyon with its waterfalls and fish, the woods with its deer and wild turkeys and swimming off the point in Otsego Lake. In St. Louis her fondest memories were of Sundays at the zoo with Mr. Wierheller, driving a coach and four, and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Continuing the family legacy of appreciation for wild lands and wildlife, she has been a strong proponent for conservation both in upstate New York and the American Southwest. She is fondly remembered by her many friends, those who worked for her over the years and her family. From your children, grand- children and great-grandchildren, Thank you for your generosity of spirit and all the blessings that you have bestowed upon us. Services: A private funeral service will be held, followed by a procession through Grant's Farm where a Clydesdale will be standing at attention, and then interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery where Puddie and Poppie will remain joined in spirit. Memorial contributions appreciated to Tucson Alliance for Autism, 1002 North Country Club Road, Tucson, AZ 85716. A service of THE LUPTON CHAPEL."
