Robert, Jr. was born in Oakland, California, to Robert and Zelda Nadol. Robert graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, California. Robert made a living driving a truck and worked later as a dispatcher for a trucking company. Robert liked working with his brother, Fred, on cars and racing at Vacaville and Fremont. He also enjoyed hunting, waterskiing, camping, and he coached girls softball. Robert died as a result of cancer at the age of 62.
