Bennie Collura was born in Galesburg,Illinois, the daughter of Lucy and Michael Collura, sister of Carol, Jean and Henry Collura. She never married, and was employed much of her life as an office manager. She essentially raised her brother's children: Lucy, and Michael who was mentally handicapped, and who lived with her most of his life, and who died shortly after she died. She was talkative, funny and friendly.
