Mildred was born on August 17, 1928, in Kiel, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Lydia (nee Mathes) Dedering. She later married her late husband, Charles Balkwill, on October 21, 1947, at the St. Peter's Ev. Reformed Church, in Kiel, Wisconsin. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Sherry and David.
Mildred was a longtime, active member at the Grafton Baptist Church and served as the Financial Secretary for the church. She enjoyed knitting and was known to knit baby blankets for the newborn babies at her church. Mildred was a loving and caring person who put others before herself. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
Mildred is survived by her children; Sherry (Dean) Kelley and David Balkwill, grandchildren; Kim (Shawn) Riley and Bryan Kelley, great-grandchildren; Mykayla, Monica and Jaden Silva, step-great-granddaughter; Emma Riley, and siblings; Gilbert (Marion) Dedering, Donald (the late Betty) Dedering, and Shirley (Arden) Mogenson. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Balkwill, after 64 years of marriage.
