MIDDLETOWN--Christene Daniel, 92, Middletown, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
She was born May 14, 1920 in Overton County, TN, to Arnold and Alta Smith.
Christene married Alfred Daniel in 1939. She worked for Marhoefer Packing Company for 28 years. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ and loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed flowers and especially gardening.
Christene is survived by her daughter, Mary Linda Davis (Johnnie) of Springport; sisters, Clarice Stover and Ruth Kennedy, both of Tennessee, Juanita Rainwaters of Muncie, and Frances Smith of Tennessee; a brother, Charles Smith of Dunkirk; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Daniel of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Alfred Daniel; sister, Imogene Smith; brothers, Ray and Ralph Smith; an infant son and granddaughter, Beverly Semler.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Don Craycraft officiating. Family and friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
